G1SG Books Nearly $1 Million in Compliance Contracts, Year-to-date revenue up 88 percent and net income up 110 percent
HOUSTON (October 5, 2005) – Global 1 Source Group, a leading information technology (IT) services company, announced that it has been awarded IT compliance contracts totaling almost $700,000 since June from major companies in the transportation and finance industries. When combined with an earlier contract with a Houston-based international energy company, G1SG has booked close to $1 million in compliance contracts so far this year.
The privately held company also noted that its year-to-date (September 30) revenues are up
88 percent compared with the similar period last year, and that net income is up 110 percent this year versus last. G1SG was formed in 2004 via the merger of five IT services companies based in Houston and Dallas.
“Thanks to our great customers and experienced employees, we’ve been able to help our clients document and improve their information technology policies, processes and procedures using the COBit and ITIL methodologies,” said James A. Taylor, chairman and chief executive officer of G1SG. “The results are compliance-prepared IT departments with increased productivity, in addition to a solid business year for G1SG.”
The company also conducted multiple business and IT alignment assessments for clients this year that provided the basis for an article by Mr. Taylor in the Tech Now section of the Houston Business Journal’s July 29th edition. Entitled “Good IT resources can strengthen a company’s competitive edge,” the full-page article provided six real-world tips on how to align business strategy and IT resources to achieve sustained competitive advantage.
