On August 28, 2002, approximately 1,000 of Houston's business, academic and government leaders attended the Grand Opening of the Houston Technology Center. If you missed the event and would like to view a streaming video presentation of the official welcome, please click here.

The extensive remodeling of the Houston Technology Center was made possible by a $1.1 million grant from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) with matching funds of $750,000 and land from the Midtown Redevelopment Authority and the City of Houston's Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) No. 2.
