There are many surveys and articles covering the amount of money flowing into venture capital and the number of deals done. That is one perspective. What about the entrepreneur's perspective? How hard was it to raise that capital? How many investor meetings did it take? Why did they get turned down? What were the characteristics of the successful companies? This session will explore the entrepreneur's view of the capital raising process based on the finding of an 80 company survey conducted by Mays Business School Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship.

Additionally, he is a Principal with Winston Sage Partners, a business management and consulting firm, and has more than 20 years experience in the systems integration business. Texchange Event Format:
Meetings start with refreshments and informal conversation followed by a sit-down dinner where attendees can become acquainted with others at their table. After the speaker's presentation, each table discusses a pre-set technology or entrepreneurial topic among themselves. Everyone is encouraged to share their viewpoints and, especially, share knowledge gained through their own unique experiences. Afterwards, there is a moderated "open table" discussion.
