Are you an entrepreneur looking for venture funding or interim financing?

The Houston Technology Center and Aegis Texas Ventures will co-host a “Pitch Day” where a selective group of promising young companies will be invited to present their business plan to a panel of Texas-based venture funds and investors. 

Fees:  There is no cost to apply 

Who May Apply: Texas-based companies looking for investment capital may apply to present. Companies located in “Strategic Enterprise Zones” within large cities in Texas are encouraged to apply.

Which Investors Will Attend: Several local and regional venture capital firms, as well as several of the new Texas CAPCO funds will be in attendance.

What is the CAPCO Program: The Certified Capital Company (CAPCO) State Economic Development Program is a special investment fund, funded by “Insurance Premium Tax Credits”.  The CAPCO program supports economic development by enabling venture capitalists to invest in promising young companies.

Executive summary must include:

  • Brief overview of the company
  • Summary of the key company management personnel
  • Brief overview of the company’s product(s) or services
  • A summary of the market opportunity
  • The planned strategic direction for the company
  • Brief competitive analysis
  • An outline of the business model
  • Revenue summary – include financial data of the past two years if available, as well as four years of future projections
  • Amount of funding being sought

Submissions missing the executive summary will not be considered.

Selection Process: All submissions will be reviewed by a screening committee. Invitations to present will be sent to the selected companies by August 31, 2005.

Companies that are selected to present on “Pitch Day” must deliver the presentation in person at the event. 

Each presentation will be 20 minutes long, followed by a 20-minute Q&A session. Presentation schedule will be determined at a later date.


  • August 22, 2005:  Deadline for submission of business plan and executive summary
  • August 31, 2005:  Invitations sent to companies selected to present
  • September 7, 2005:  Deadline for submission of company slide presentation to HTC
  • September 9, 2005:  Pitch Day
