Science Hack Day Houston


Science Hack Day Houston (#SHDH2016) is part of the global Science Hack Day movement. It is a 48-hour-all-night event that brings together inquisitive and creative minds to one place, to make wonderful things.

SHDH is Anyone who is excited about making things with science is welcome to attend – no experience in science or hacking is necessary, just an insatiable curiosity. Hack Day is inherently about mashing up ideas, mediums, industries and people to create sparks for future ideas, collaborations and inspirations to launch from.

  • 9am: Check-in & Breakfast
  • 10am: Welcome & Intro
  • 10:15am: Team Up
  • 11:00am: Start Hacking!
  • 12pm: Lunch
  • 7pm: Dinner
  • 8pm: Doors locked (leave anytime, but no entry after)
  • Late night: Optional sleepover!
  • Midnight cupcakes


  • 6:15am: Wake-up call
  • 7:00am: Breakfast
  • 9:00am: Doors open
  • 12:00pm: Lunch 
  • 1:00pm: Hacks need to be entered online no later than 1:37pm!

  • ~4:00pm: Winning teams award ceremony (Grand Hall)
