Challenges of Oil Well, Facility, and Reservoir Management | Platform Houston

  •                                          Sophie Postif

Well, Reservoir and Facility Management (WRFM) is one of the core components of production excellence. It aims to increase our value delivery by economically improving recovery factors by applying and sustaining standard processes, data and systems, by building an engaged community of WRFM professionals and by using Lean principles to drive continuous improvement.

The more complex the geology or the recovery process, the more important industry-leading WRFM is to the success of the asset involved. Few waterfloods and no enhanced oil recovery projects have been successfully implemented without the foundation of world-class WRFM. Given that WRFM concentrates on maximising the value of existing assets, little capex is typically required and consequently, WRFM hydrocarbons are often the lowest cost hydrocarbons in a portfolio.
