Client Spotlight Nurtured By Design
Client Spotlight: Nurtured By Design
This month’s client spotlight recently appeared on Fox and Friends on Fox News, selected for the Toyota’s Standing O-Vation Award presented by Oprah Winfrey, and has appeared multiple times on various domestic and international media outlets. To say the least, Nurtured by Design is determined to improve the quality of life of families around the world.
Nurtured by Design provides an ergonomic environment that promotes comfort and bonding between parent and baby or child even when they are not together. To learn more about their products and how they are touching the lives of families, we spoke with Yamile Jackson the Founder and CEO of Nurtured by Design.
Yamile Jackson explained,
“There are basically three events when parents want to provide care to their children but other obligations keep them from being present 24/7: when they have a newborn (healthy or preemie), when their child is sick, hospitalized or in distress, and when the parent returns to work or travel and someone else has to take care of their child. Both parent and child experience separation anxiety, and we help alleviate it by simulating the scent, weight, and shape of the parent.”
So how do you improve the quality of life for the child and parent? Nurtured by Design has two products: the Zaky™ and Kangaroo Zak™.
- The Kangaroo Zak™ is a safety device that provides proper positioning and security to the baby eliminating the risk of accidental falls. It is the only device on the market that facilitates hands-free holding regardless of the size of the baby. To put it in perspective, there are reported 600 falls at hospitals each year with even more when you factor in babies that are dropped with no serious injuries.
- The Kangaroo Zak™ (KZ) is a soft, breathable, stretchy and strapless top made with natural fibers that wraps around the torso of the adult and closes on the side with a zipper giving instant access to the babies for any intervention. This device is used for infants or preemies that are up to 3 months old.
- The Zaky™ device is an ergonomic and transitional device made to simulate the weight, touch, and scent of the parent. The Zaky™ combats separation anxiety a baby or child may experience when the parent needs to attend other obligations or needs aid sleeping.
- Simple and safe to use, the parent rubs the Zaky™ on their neck or chest and then uses the device to position the baby or child in a comfortable and secure position. The baby or child will feel secure with the scent of the mother or father promoting a safer and relaxed environment for the baby to fall asleep and continue sleeping. This device can be used on newborn babies to young children that miss their parents.
Currently hospitals offer the Zaky and Kangaroo Zak, and they are available for purchase via the Nurtured by Design website. Yamile Jackson is excited about what the 2015 year will bring to Nurtured by Design and the families who choose to use their products!
